Artist Statement

Tree of Life:
I have always been attracted to expressing the mystical and spiritual aspect of nature with a colorful and strong abstract style. We all are meant to grow and shine. It must be remembered that we are all connected as one. The under world and upper world connects our heart and mind. We grow with the power of our mind, which is represented by the brain tree. Roots under the brain tree apply a textured, stained-glass-like effect for emphasis of spirituality.
The moon shines over the wolf. It howls, and we should listen to its wild spirit and heart. The wolf is in peace, showing compassion and generosity. It expresses its love, and truth. The black bird is friends with the wolf in nature; it helps the wolf to survive as well as itself. I admire nature for always giving wisdom to the wild, for it to survive. Which are demonstrated around the stairs.
Swirls are an expression of the energy of continuity and harmony. The roots are giving a connection to the tree upstairs. Roots are the fundamental source of life and life grows on in the direction of the light. The lotus is growing from the mud, and when it blooms into a big beautiful lotus flower, there is not even a bit of mud on any petals. This is like a metaphor of human life. The Life to fill our body with love, light and patience to bloom a beautiful lotus.
The helix references the natural forms of DNA, neurons, viscera and tangled root systems. These display the bridge of life from the past, present and future. The inheritance of the gifts of wisdom and intelligence, are given to us by life before passing to the life after. Ourselves like a bridge, we are the present while connecting the past and future.
and are growing together with the eternity of life. Eternity of life comes when we love life regardless, because life is a gift. A gift to experience all feelings, yet some are felt with tears...but it is still a beautiful life. The boat symbolizes the journey of life.
